There's a lot ofback-and-forth running to get around corners with only one person, and threepeople are too many except for long runs. Since plenum-rated cable is usually almost twice as expensive as pvccable (at least in my area), i also used pvc for twisted pair cabling. Consequently, you should not assume that all speakers of the same size andrating should sound alike, but you can assume as the old saying goes, you getwhat you pay for. Two 25-pair cables are attached to the jacks on this panel - one from thetelco interface (4, plus 1 isdn/analog) and one out to the lan/phonelines. However, i've foundthat these hole guides cost anywhere from $10 each to $40 for a mountingbracket per speaker! I'm going to stick to the speakers that include themounting bracket in the price of the speaker (polk has some nice ones; wepurchased their top-end in-wall model ab 805 speakers for about $390 perpair, and their mid-quality in-wall ab 705 speakers for about $290 per pair). |
