On one of the side walls inside theshelf area of the stack, we had the framers putin a vertical "plenum" from floor to ceiling (7"deep) so we could run all the whole-house andmedia room a/v cables to the ceiling of themedia room (the floor is concrete slab, but ihad previously run a 2" electrical conduitfrom the stack area to the basement for futurechanges/enhancements). Another drywaller note: I tried to set my "future" boxes back at the edge ofthe studs, so they didn't stick out the standard 1/2" inch that the boxes iwanted exposed were. For electricity to power the equipment stack and the room, two dedicated 20amp circuits were run by the electrician. Twisted wire pairs help reduce this noise.
Netput everything in smooth-wall plastic conduit to a central point. I was planning on using this as a back-up for some locationswhere i might need more than the double-gang box, but didn't want to go to alarger size box. Our current sound processor and a few others (notablyyamaha) use two front effect speakers, and most all also (or only) use tworear effect speakers. If you have several people helping you run cables, organization during thecable pulling is even more important.
(Be sure to do thisbefore connecting the battery, so you don't get zapped by the inductive kickof the coil. Where the monster coaxwas tightly braided with copper (about 60% coverage braid), the other coaxwas loosely braided (about 30% coverage braid) with aluminum alloy wirestrands (see the comparison photo above).
